Robot-Staffed Greenhouses

Iron Ox Only Uses Farming Robot Employees to Grow Their Lettuce

This farming robot can grow lettuce all by itself. From indoor farming startup Iron Ox, the mobile robot can do everything from plant seeds, move herbs and heads of lettuce as the plants become bigger and package the resulting premium produce. Early next year the new greenhouse venture plans on opening a fully automated 8000 square foot farm staffed entirely by automated workers.

Iron Ox wants to make local food production that is free of pesticides available for the same price as conventional agricultural practices. Indoor farming doesn't require the use of pesticides and also needs significantly less water and space.

The farming robot is an example of how food production and robotic employees can come together to benefit consumers and the environment.
